Michael Gilman is the Managing Broker of Sugarhouse Real Estate, LLC (“Sugarhouse”). Michael founded Sugarhouse after spending more than fifteen years acquiring, renovating, and operating his own portfolio — as well as portfolios for investors — focused on New England, and Vermont in particular.

Sugarhouse provides unique investment opportunities in the New England region and solves the operational log jams in these markets by delivering the full suite of property management and renovation services in-house across Southern and Central Vermont, with over a dozen in-house field techs and construction crews.

Before transitioning to real estate full-time and establishing Sugarhouse, Michael was a securities and real estate attorney. After building his own real estate portfolio in New England, Michael eventually realized his true calling was in the Green Mountain State. Michael’s background spanning legal, real estate investing, property management, brokerage and construction provides a unique and comprehensive skillset to address all aspects of a client’s real estate needs.

Outside of Sugarhouse, Michael’s great passion is his family, the outdoors and disappearing into the glades on a powder day.

His hands-on experience in residential building — from structural layouts to interior finishes — allows him to provide clients with invaluable insights into a property’s physical integrity and long-term potential. Whether identifying blockages in complex systems or documenting project progress for lenders, Evan possesses a keen eye for detail that protects client interests throughout the acquisition and management lifecycle.
